Take only memories and photographs, leaving nothing but footprints at the campsite. Nurturing the balance between a healthy environment and the impact of man on world ecosystems forms the essence of this work.
The dual challenge posed for our Australian environment is for human habitation and the impact of commercial and industrial ventures to be minimal, enabling sustainability for the many unique ecosystems, be they woodlands, tropical, temperate or arid landscapes. Preserving resources like artesian waters, rivers, the oceans, landforms, earth, minerals and rock formations, native plant and animal species combined with responsible livestock management and cultivation of crops, will see renewable energies like solar, water and wind power completing the cycle of sustainability. The common thread in Fragile Balance is to respect and acknowledge the spirit of the land and the life force that nurtures and maintains it.
