Vintage sewing tools, collected from a lifetime of sewing and collecting have been designed 
by Julie as foundation pieced blocks that can be assembled as individual mini quilts or as a sewing room wall quilt. Choose from motifs like Needle cases, sewing baskets, toy sewing machines, cotton reels and pincushions.
Even lettering templates could phrase your favourite sewing ‘quote’. The samples illustrated are taken from only ONE layer cake so the designs co-ordinate beautifully (Illustrated here is ’spring a ling” Layer cake by American Jane) or you might use lots of those bright or modern scraps from the stash. Low volume fabrics will highlight the motifs and give space for quilting. 
This is a playful approach to creating unique little quilts, sewing room wall quilts, machine covers, book covers, gift size quilted projects. Bron’s quilt was made as a gift, for a friend’s 70th birthday to decorate her sewing rom. Smaller versions can be made and designed to suit particular themes.
