Drawings for this quilt were of isolated, starkly beautiful landscapes that I saw whilst travelling in outback Queensland. The panorama, littered with giant termite mounds was decorated with golden blossoming trees (Cochlospermum Gregorii) that were totally foreign to me. To capture the dramatic colours, I dyed and overdyed fabrics and hand coloured embroidery threads, then block printed termites around border panels after assembling.
