- This feather quilt is Julie’s first take on a modern stained glass and the technique. This class is both fun, fast and easy to achieve. Using Vleisofix for attaching fabrics and iron on black bias for the black lead, allows students the time to complete the quilt top in two days then to explore quilting in the negative space on day 3.
Julie uses a one fabric selection technique, whereby one fabric (chosen for its colours or its interior design possibilities…ie matches bedroom) and from that one fabric, the colours are chosen for your feather and that patterned fabric appears in the quilt. The fabric used for Julies quilt was a Kaffe Fasset pebbles fabric. Quilting techniques will require the sewing machine to have a walking foot.
In this class, Julie Haddrick, Australia’s award winning stained glass quilt artist shares her expertise knowledge and skills to help you create a unique masterpiece.
The original pattern is precise and accurate, with easy to follow notes and instructions and a range of inspiring samples to encourage the creative side of each quilter.
