My love and interest for flowers, in particular those native to Australia, form the focus and foundation of this art quilt. A native flower represents each state, with the Golden Wattle our ‘unofficial emblem’ and symbol of patriotism; [the green and gold] being placed centrally. In 2001, the year of Australia’s Centenary of Federation, we celebrated independence, freedom and unity. This is represented symbolically using floral emblems.
